DUKE: Duke believes he is in charge of homeland security.  We have come to accept the fact that any intruder, whether good or bad, is more likely to suffer injury from either being slobbered on or tripping over Duke than by confrontation with him.  He is extremely confident in his role as chief of security.  So much so, he simply refuses to lose ANY sleep about it.  An occasional "woof" at a our abandoned kitty cat approaching his almost empty food bowl is about as much effort he makes at protecting anything.  ( 110 lbs. of bone assed laziness.)
